Key Care Requirements
Light:
Provide bright, filtered light (indirect light). Direct sun will scorch the variegated leaves, while too little light causes variegation to fade.
Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. Overwatering leads to root rot, while letting it dry out completely can cause droopiness.
Humidity & Temperature:
Thrives in 50–70%+ humidity; use a humidifier or pebble tray. Ideal temperatures are 65–82°F (18–28°C), avoiding cold drafts below 60°F.
Soil & Potting:
Use a well-draining, airy aroid mix, such as potting soil blended with perlite, orchid bark, and peat moss.
Fertilizer:
Feed with a balanced, liquid houseplant fertilizer at half-strength once a month during spring and summer.
Gently wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust. Prune yellow or damaged leaves at the base to encourage growth. Regularly check for spider mites and mealybugs, treating with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
