Alocasia Loco 'Small/Corm'
Key Care Requirements
Light:
Thrives in bright, indirect light (east/west window or pulled back from a south window). Avoid direct sun to prevent scorching.
Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Allow the top quarter (roughly 1–2 inches) of soil to dry out between waterings.
Humidity & Temperature:
Prefers high humidity (60% or more) but can adapt to average household levels. Thrives in temperatures of 18 - 25°C
Soil & Potting:
Use a well-draining, chunky mix, such as a combination of coco husk, orchid bark, perlite, and charcoal.
Fertilizer:
Use a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength once a month during the growing season (spring/summer).
Maintenance:
Gently wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust.
Pests: Keep an eye out for spider mites, mealybugs, and scale.
Dormancy:
Alocasias may go dormant in winter; if so, significantly reduce watering and stop fertilizing until spring.
