Key Care Requirements
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light, 3–6 feet from a bright window. Too much sun will scorch the variegated leaves.
Watering:
Allow the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out completely between waterings, typically every 1-2 weeks. Overwatering leads to root rot.
Humidity & Temperature:
Thrives in 60%-70% humidity. Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or group with other plants. Ideal temperatures are 18C-27C / 65 - 80F. Avoid cold drafts and air conditioner vents.
Soil & Potting:
Use a chunky, well-draining mix, such as a combination of orchid bark, perlite, and coconut coir.
Fertilizer:
Feed monthly during the growing season (spring/summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half-strength.
Pests: Keep an eye out for spider mites, aphids, and scale.
